Labor Day I went to the Detroit Zoo. Even if you're not from Detroit, you've heard about how the city's in shambles and the mayor is a modern-day gangster who stole money from the city & still got re-elected. Anyway, the zoo was depressing because there hasn't been adequate funding and the animals looked depressed. (Awesome, but depressed.) You should have seen the amount of people snapping photos anytime an animal came near. It was awesome. Annoying, but awesome, because I saw eight year olds with cell phones taking pictures.
After the photo shoot that took place at the zoon, I had a home cooked meal for the first time in about three weeks. My mother has never heard of the phrase "medium well" so every piece of meat she prepares is cooked charred and tough. She's always chewing and saying "Isn't it moist?" (Spit gland problem?) Three bites later, she's 'full'. My bro, eight years removed from living at home, ordered his burger medium rare at a restaurant and Mom almost threw up when she saw the meat bleeding through the sesame bun.
I am loving that gas prices are going back down. Fuck oil.
Tomorrow is my last first day of school for classes as an undergrad. This time next year it'll be like 'sup student teaching.'
I hate 'Cribs'. Because anyone that was wondering what T-Pain's bedroom looks like needs a real fucking life.
First day of class. Observations:
1) Buying a laptop was perhaps the best investment I've made to my education/Facebook stalking.
2) Anyone who still wear convertible khakis pants, yes, with zippers at the knee, is deemed not cool.
3) I would have been more comfortable wearing a bathing suit to class, considering how it feels like Michigan is about three feet from the sun.
4) Getting an extreme bleach job on your hair the day before classes start is not the best way to attract attention.
5) More men are going into elementary education. I have three(!!) in my social studies methods course (none are hot, though. Boo.)
6) I really should have switched my major when I had the chance because I think I may be better suited for high schoolers....regardless, I can always do it for grad school.
Note: If you are easily offended, have a problem with salty language, are close-minded, hold personal grievances against me, or are looking for song lyric & vague emo posts, stop reading. This is not for you.
