Sorry I haven't written in a while. Sorority recruitment and school is owning my life right now. However, something just happened in my social studies methods course that made me want to yell at my classmates.
Right now we're learning how to do Junior Achievement in a Day. We're going to a charter school in Detroit (hooray for charter schools...not) and we signed up for a class. I signed up for fourth graders because I'm not that cuddly and I almost dropped out of education when I worked in a kindergarten last year. The facilitator lady said that you will have the grade you signed up for but maybe not the teacher. At least three occasions with the fifteen minutes that followed, each of the three soccer moms in my classroom asked when they would know who their teacher was. We're getting an entire packet of everything we need to do. We're going to a school that is used to having us there. Why is this important? Why the hell do they keep asking? "I want to know if I can play a game with them at the end of the day." "I need to know their food allergies." "I want to visit the classroom beforehand." Why. Why. Why. Who has that much time to bake food or go to the classroom when she's said 'We're going there for only one day and doing everything in one day.'? And why are they sitting their, writing down tons of shit? What is she saying right now? No one else is writing anything but the soccer moms. Ugh. Such a pain in the ass.
Note: If you are easily offended, have a problem with salty language, are close-minded, hold personal grievances against me, or are looking for song lyric & vague emo posts, stop reading. This is not for you.
